United Properties’ Larry Pobuda Receives Highest Individual Award from Minnesota NAIOP Chapter
MINNEAPOLIS (Jan. 23, 2004) — Larry Pobuda, United Properties senior vice president, is the recipient of the 2004 President’s Award from the Minnesota Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP). Pobuda received the award — the association’s highest honor — at NAIOP’s annual Awards of Excellence event last night.
Given annually as part of NAIOP’s Awards of Excellence, the President’s Award recognizes a chapter member who provides outstanding leadership to the organization, is a local and national real estate industry leader and who provides outstanding service to the community.
A 15-year real estate industry veteran, Pobuda currently leads the United Properties Healthcare Real Estate Group, as well as the company’s geographic expansion initiative. The fast-growing Healthcare Real Estate Group provides comprehensive real estate services for healthcare organizations nationwide. Clients include BlueCross BlueShield of Minnesota, Gillette Children’s Hospitals, Health Partners, North Memorial Hospital, University of Minnesota Physicians, Park Nicollet and US Oncology.
Pobuda established United Properties’ Corporate Real Estate Services division in 1995. Today the division includes 80 employees providing comprehensive services to more than 25 leading corporations in markets across the country. In addition, Pobuda in 2001 developed the 8000 Tower, a 242,000 square foot, Class A office building in Bloomington, Minn.
Pobuda is past president of the Minnesota NAIOP chapter and currently serves on the national NAIOP board of directors. He also serves on the board of directors of CornerHouse, a non-profit agency serving children of Hennepin County.
Pobuda received his master’s of business administration in 1988 from Northwestern University’s J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management in Evanston, Illinois. He earned his bachelor of arts degree from James Madison College in urban studies at Michigan State University (MSU). He is a member of the MSU President’s Club and past president of the MSU Alumni Association’s Minnesota chapter.
