United Properties Selected To Lease, Manage Campbell Mithun Tower in Downtown Minneapolis
MINNEAPOLIS (Oct. 11, 2004) — TIAA-CREF has selected United Properties to provide leasing and property management services for Campbell Mithun Tower, a 725,000 square foot, Class A office tower located at 222 South Ninth Street in downtown Minneapolis.
United Properties assumed management and leasing duties for the 41-story tower effective October 1. The building is currently 85 percent leased and is home to approximately 50 companies and 3,000 employees. Key tenant companies include Campbell Mithun Advertising, which currently occupies 120,000 square feet and six floors in the building; Capella University occupies more than 90,000 square feet and four floors; and Berkley Risk occupies 90,000 square feet and four floors.
“Campbell Mithun Tower is a Minneapolis office landmark, and United Properties is pleased that TIAA-CREF selected our firm to manage and lease the property on its behalf,” said Jeff Eaton, senior vice president, United Properties Property Services. “We’re planning some exciting changes to the building and its amenities in the coming months. Our vision is to position the property to stand apart from its competitors downtown.”
United Properties also manages and leases TIAA-CREF-owned Normandale Lake Office Park in Bloomington. At 1.4 million square feet, Normandale Lake is the Twin Cities’ largest Class A suburban office park.
Leasing for the property will be lead by senior brokers Jim Montez and Brent Erickson, who are both downtown Minneapolis experts. Dave Costello, General Manager, has been at Campbell Mithun tower since 1999 and has been hired by United Properties to continue leading the property management team.
Opened in 1986, Campbell Mithun Tower is located at the corner of Ninth Street and Third Avenue, a main thoroughfare of the Minneapolis central business district. The building is skyway-connected in two directions and offers a wide range of amenities, including White Way dry cleaner, D.
