A new vision for a historic site

The 37-story RBC Gateway tower on Nicollet Mall is Minneapolis’ newest skyscraper. The 1.2 million-square-foot building houses the US headquarters of RBC Wealth Management, the Pohlad Companies and a Four Seasons Hotel — Minnesota’s only 5-star luxury hotel. It also includes 34 private residential condos, a public plaza with greenspace and a street-level restaurant.

RBC Gateway is the most ambitious mixed-use development undertaken in the City of Minneapolis in several decades. The goal to establish the north end of Nicollet Mall as a premier destination was achieved through the building’s world-class architecture, functionality, and premium mix of offerings and high-end amenities (a luxury hotel, two restaurants and a café, offices and luxury residences on the very top floors). Eight years in the making, RBC Gateway, situated at Hennepin, Nicollet and Washington Avenues, brings a new vision for a historic downtown Minneapolis site, which was once the location of the historically famous Nicollet Hotel.
