Bill Katter is President of United Properties Development (UPD) and Chief Investment Officer of United Properties (UP).

Current Responsibilities
As President of United Properties Development he has responsibility for all new investment projects and all development personnel. Bill oversees all aspects of United Properties’ development activities, including land acquisition, entitlement, design, construction, company and project marketing, and project capitalization and disposition.

Bill co-leads the combined companies, United Properties (UP) with Eva Stevens, President of United Properties Investment (UPI) and the Chief Operating Officer of United Properties. Bill serves as chair of United Properties’ Investment Committee and is a member of the Executive Team and the Board of Governors.

Past Experience
Prior to his executive leadership role at United Properties, Bill significantly impacted United Properties’ success, both in the Twin Cities and Denver. He was responsible for the purchase and/or development of more than five million square feet of office and industrial space for the company from 2006-2014. Notable projects in Minnesota include the development of the C.H. Robinson corporate campus in Eden Prairie, the acquisition of Plymouth Ponds Business Park, development of the LEED Gold 8200 Tower of Normandale Lake Office Park, the adaptive re-use of both 505 and 655 Nicollet Mall properties, the renovation of the Ford Center and Loose Wiles historic buildings, and development of the Be The Match headquarters in downtown Minneapolis. In the Denver market, Bill initiated development of Enterprise Business Center, a two million square foot master-planned and award-winning industrial park.

Professional and Community Involvement
Bill is an active member of the National Urban Land Institute’s Industrial and Office Park Development Council. He is also a member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP).

Education
Bill earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in humanities from the University of Minnesota.

Eva Stevens is the President of United Properties Investment (UPI) and the Chief Operating Officer of United Properties (UP).

Current Responsibilities
As President of United Properties Investment, she is responsible for all aspects of portfolio and asset management of the organization’s owned assets.

As the chief operating officer of UP she co-leads the company with Bill Katter, President of United Properties Development (UPD) and Chief Investment Officer of UP. As COO and co-leader of the company she is responsible for all aspects of operations of the company including accounting, financial analysis, insurance, information technology, governance, administration and human resources. She chairs the UP Executive Team, is a member of the UP-Investment Committee and the Board of Governors.

Past Experience
Eva joined United Properties in 2001 as vice president of asset management and was named to the executive team in 2005. During her tenure, she led the development of an online asset management toolkit, allowing her team access to quality-controlled decision making information from anywhere with an internet connection. In partnership with the asset management group, she successfully led the investment portfolio through the worst recession in recent years. Eva is currently developing the next generation of leaders for the portfolio and leading the transformation of the product type structure – along with geographic location of the portfolio – to best position it for the future.

Eva has enjoyed a long career in commercial real estate investment and analysis dating back to her time in public accounting at Coopers & Lybrand in the late 1970’s as a member of the real estate team. Before joining United Properties, Eva was senior vice president of regional asset management for Colonnade Properties, LLC.

Professional and Community Involvement
Eva is an active member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Parks (NAIOP) and a 28-year member of Women in Real Estate (WIRE).   She has served for several years on boards and committees for NAIOP at both the local and national level. She has served on the NAIOP Corporate Board from 2012 to the present, is a current member of the Corporate Executive Committee and is the Secretary and Editorial Board Chair. She is a member of the National NAIOP Investment Management II Forum and has a passion for mentoring young leaders in the industry. Eva is a 28- year cancer survivor and is actively involved with Gilda’s Club Twin Cities. She is currently serving as vice chairman of the Board of Directors and chairs the Executive Support and Appraisal Team (ESAT). She served as the chair of the Clubhouse Committee for six years. During which time the Clubhouse opened a new facility in the Twin Cities.

Education
Eva earned her Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Mankato State University and her MBA from Cardinal Stritch University. When not working, she enjoys family time, reading, knitting and riding her horse Doogin.

Current Responsibilities
Brenda is an assistant vice president and senior investment analyst who manages the investment analyst team. Her team performs investment analyses for the entire real estate investment group of United Properties. This includes all aspects of the financial, market and property analysis. Brenda also performs portfolio management duties, which includes yearly budgeting, quarterly forecasts, and three-year strategic planning.

Past Experience
Brenda has been with the company for more than 30 years. Prior to her position as a senior investment analyst, Brenda was a corporate account manager. She worked with real estate accounting involving office, retail, industrial and multiple-family projects. Prior to that, Brenda was a senior property accountant.

Education
Brenda earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance from Minnesota State University, Mankato.

Current Responsibilities As vice president, Brandon leads project teams in the development and acquisition of commercial properties in the Twin Cities and select markets nationwide.

Past Experience
Brandon joined the United Properties Retail Brokerage group (now Cushman & Wakefield/NorthMarq) in 2004, working on tenant representation and landlord listing services. During this time he represented such retailers as Hollywood Video, T-Mobile, Fidelity Investments, FedEx Kinko’s and Pier1 Imports on site selection and lease negotiations.

From 2002-2004, prior to joining United Properties, Brandon worked with Island Def Jam Records in Hollywood, CA and Minneapolis, MN.  He developed the Def Jam Records college representative program in the Twin Cities, providing opportunities for volunteer college students to work with the record label on event planning and grassroots marketing campaigns. During this time he was directly involved in coordinating local marketing and public relations efforts for artists such as Mariah Carey, Jay-Z, DMX, Ja Rule and Ashanti, among others.

Professional and Community Involvement Brandon is an active member of NAIOP. He recently finished his post as chair of the Public Policy Committee, leading the legislative efforts for the Minnesota Chapter of the association. He is also a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), and actively participates in ULI’s Urban Plan initiative. A part member of the ULI Young Leaders executive board, and past chair of the Commercial Real Estate Diversity Challenge.

Education
Brandon earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in entrepreneurial studies and finance, with a minor in marketing from the University of Minnesota-Carlson School of Management.

Current Responsibilities
Mike Dailey focuses on senior housing and retail development out of the Denver office. He works alongside Kevin Kelley, Senior Vice President of United Properties, to expand the company’s overall development platform.

Past Experience
Prior to joining United Properties, Dailey was President of MVG Development. In addition, he worked for Opus Northwest as Director of Development and in the real estate departments at Level 3 Communications and Safeway.

Professional and Community Involvement
Dailey is licensed as a Colorado real estate broker and attorney and is a member of the Colorado Bar Association. He has served on the board of directors for Colorado Headwaters Land Trust and a previous commissioner for the Town of Superior Planning and Zoning. Dailey is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association.

Education
Dailey received his law degree from the University of Denver College of Law and his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Menlo College in Atherton, California.

Alex has been a member of the residential development group since 2005. In this role, he focuses on multi-family residential development in the Twin Cities. His responsibilities include project management as well as overseeing the residential property management group.

Past Experience
Alex joined United Properties in 1992 as a senior property manager. He was one of the four portfolio managers leading the property management division. In this role, he managed a nine-person team responsible for a diverse portfolio of more than six million square feet. Prior to joining United Properties, Alex was with Rubloff, Inc. in Chicago, where he managed properties on behalf of institutional owners.

Professional and Community Involvement
Alex has been involved in local organizations such as BOMA and NAIOP. Hew as on the BOMA Board of Directors from 2003 through 2005. He obtained CPM and RPA designations.

Education
Alex holds a bachelor of arts degree from St. Olaf College and a master of business administration degree from the University of Denver.

Current Responsibilities
As vice president of construction, Bill Jundt oversees all construction management services for the development team and assists with tenant improvement projects for the company portfolio.

Past Experience
Bill has 31 years of experience in commercial construction working on a vast scale of projects including Norwest Tower, Timberwolves Arena, The Grand Hotel, numerous medical facilities, Best Buy and JC Penney stores nationally, and 13 radio broadcast facilities.  Jundt worked previously for United Properties’ Construction Services, now RJM Construction, from 2004-2011.

Professional and Community Involvement
Bill is a member of the Minnesota Shopping Center Association, International Council of Shopping Centers and former Vice President of Minnesota Construction Association. He is also a former member of the Minnesota Medical Group Managers Association.

Education
Bill studied nursing at Mankato State University. He also holds a graduate degree in architectural drafting and estimating from Dunwoody College in Minneapolis. Bill holds a LEED Legacy certification.

Current Responsibilities:

Kevin Kelley, who joined United Properties in 2005, oversees the office & industrial development business in Colorado. He has more than 30 years’ experience in the development, acquisition, financing and disposition of properties representing nearly $4 billion in value.

Past Experience
Before joining United Properties, Kevin was with Miller Weingarten Realty in Colorado and Faison Associates in Charlotte, NC. In both roles, he was involved in the acquisition and development of retail centers. Prior to that, Kevin was involved in his own investment consulting firm, Renaissance Realty Group. He started his career in the mortgage banking and was employed with Northland Financial (now NorthMarq) and Baird & Warner Real Estate as a loan producer.

Kevin is currently serving on the 2016 NAIOP Colorado Chapter Board. Kevin was 2016 NAIOP Colorado Chapter PresidentHe is also an active member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Colorado and the University of Colorado Real Estate Council. He is a past President of the Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association and has served on the Board of Rocky Mountain Human Resources.

Education
Kevin holds a B.A. degree in history and an MBA in real estate from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.

Bruce McGrath joined the United Properties team as its Chief Risk Officer in November 2016. In this new role, Bruce is responsible for leadership of enterprise risk management across the organization’s development, investment and senior housing businesses. Bruce is a member of the United Properties executive team.

Past Experience
Bruce brings more than 20 years of experience in the area of risk management, including tenure with the Pohlad-owned Marquette Financial Companies prior to its sale to UMB Financial in 2015. Since that time, McGrath has served as UMB’s executive vice president and senior credit officer, responsible for the credit function and managing portfolio credit risk for the holding company and its subsidiaries that specialized in commercial and retail banking, as well as commercial real estate.

Bruce is an active member of NAIOP Minnesota Chapter. He also sits on the Board of Directors for Totino-Grace High School.

As vice president of development, Rick’s primary responsibility includes the development of mixed-use, medical and retail properties primarily in the Twin Cities, and greater Minnesota market. In this role, he leads the project teams through land acquisition, due diligence, municipal approvals, design, and construction coordination, and leasing or sale of the project upon stabilization.

Past Experience
Having worked previously as a general contractor for 11 years Rick brought extensive construction experience and insight when he joined United Properties as vice president of development in 2013.

Rick is a LEED Accredited Professional and is a member of the Minnesota Shopping Center Association (MSCA), International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Twin City Healthcare Engineering Association (TCHEA) and is certified by the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE).

Mark Nelson leads United Properties’ senior housing development activities.  An accomplished real estate professional with 28 years’ experience, Mark has been a key manager of the company’s senior housing business developing Applewood Pointe Cooperatives, Cherrywood Pointe Senior Living Communities, Townhouses and single-family residential.  valued at more than $175,000,000. Joining United Properties in 1999, Mark served as project manager on major office, industrial and medical projects totaling nearly one million square feet prior to focusing on senior housing more than twelve years ago.

Past Experience
A nine-year career as real estate manager for Minnesota-based Holiday Companies gives Mark unique insight into problem solving and managing the development process. Development, acquisition, disposition and property management experience provide a broad base of expertise for Mark to call upon while directing projects.

Mark is a member of the Twin Cities Housing Council for the Urban Land Institute.

Education
Mark is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in both finance and marketing and a Master of Science degree in real estate investment analysis.

Ray Oborn joined United Properties as president of Cherrywood Pointe Investment in February 2017. In this new role, Ray will be responsible for expanding the firm’s Cherrywood Pointe senior housing division. A member of the executive team, Ray reports in to co-presidents Bill Katter and Eva Stevens.

Past Experience
Ray brings more than 20 years of experience in the senior living industry and a passion for improving the lives of seniors. He has worked with independent living, assisted living, memory care, post-acute care and skilled nursing facilities. Most recently, Ray was the senior regional vice president of operations for Brookdale Senior Living in the Rocky Mountain region and was responsible for 81 communities in 6 states. Prior to that, he was the senior vice president of operations for New Perspectives Senior Living, a developer and operator of senior housing communities in the Midwest. He also has worked for several other leading senior housing developers and operators, including Silverado Senior Living and Sunrise Senior Living, where he spent ten years in various roles, beginning as an executive director of a community.

Education
Ray earned a BS degree in Behavioral Science and Health from the University of Utah and an MBA degree with an emphasis in Health Care Administration also from the University of Utah.

Current Responsibilities
As vice president, Jamie works within the asset management group and is responsible for a portfolio of properties that include both retail and industrial assets in Colorado, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Illinois. His duty is to create and maintain value within the company’s owned portfolio and leading day-to-day business management for his assigned properties.  This includes long-term capital expenditure planning, cash flow management, lease underwriting, acquisition due diligence, dispositions and formulating and executing annual business plan objectives. For the retail assets that cover the four states, Jamie maintains strong relationships with the anchor tenants and the local brokerage communities. Jamie also works alongside the development team on executing redevelopment strategies and assists with operations for various value-add retail properties.

Past Experience
Prior to joining United Properties in 2007, Jamie spent five years at Buell & Company in Denver where he was involved in the leasing, property management, accounting, and development activities of their portfolio.

Jamie is an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) where he attends both local and national conferences and he recently completed a term on the planning committee for the Rocky Mountain Idea Exchange.

Education
Jamie graduated from Washington College in Chestertown, Md., with a Bachelor of Arts degree. While at Washington, Jamie played lacrosse and won a Division III National Championship.

Alicia Rhymer is vice president of retail development of United Properties.  In this role, Alicia oversees retail investment and development activities for the company.

Past Experience 
Alicia brings more than 11 years of development experience to United Properties. Previously, Alicia held the role of senior development director at Confluent Development LLC.  In that role, she led the company’s national retail development program, assisting clients with strategic retail expansion solutions in multiple markets across the country. She also served as a senior real estate representative with 7-Eleven, Inc. for 4 years.

As assistant vice president and operations manager, Ann manages the team of administrative professionals as well as all office operations.  Ann’s additional responsibilities include annual budgeting, document management, and special projects for the Executive Team.  As a liaison to our partners in human resources, information technology, insurance and marketing-communications, Ann provides communication and direction to the chief operating officer on corporate matters.

Past Experience
Ann spent the first several years of her career at United Properties in Property Accounting where she supervised a team of property accountants. Her team was responsible for the financial reporting of more than 50 buildings. Ann also worked on several accounting initiatives then moved into her current role in 2007. Prior to joining United Properties, Ann was assistant controller with the University of Minnesota Foundation.

Professional and community involvement
Ann is an active parent volunteer within the Bloomington Public Schools and is the founding president of the Jefferson Athletic Group (JAG), an all-sport booster club at Jefferson High School.  She is also a pianist at her church and a past volunteer with Gilda’s Club-Twin Cities and Bloomington Athletic Association.

Current Responsibilities
As senior vice president, John is responsible for asset management of United Properties’ wholly-owned office and industrial portfolio. John also leads all disposition transactions out of the investment group’s office and industrial portfolio. John and the asset management group are responsible for the firm’s owners’ commercial real estate portfolio investment strategy and implementation of that strategy.

Past Experience
Before joining United Properties, John was senior vice president, secretary and general counsel for Northco Corporation in Minneapolis with responsibilities primarily in the acquisition and disposition of office and industrial property investments. Prior to that, he was general counsel and acquisitions principal for Chesapeake Partners in Minneapolis and practiced law for many years as a partner in the real estate department of a large Minneapolis law firm.

John is a member of NAIOP and a member of the Minnesota State and Hennepin County Bar Associations. In 1990, John was in the first class of Minnesota attorneys awarded the Real Property Law Specialist designation by the Minnesota State Bar Association. John is  a board member of the Minneapolis Downtown Council, and a steering committee member for 2020 Partners.

John earned his bachelor’s degree from Tufts University and his law degree from the University of Minnesota. John is also a licensed real estate broker.

As executive vice president and chief financial officer, Eric Skalland is responsible for leadership and oversight of all United Properties’ financial activities. In this role, he directs personnel in accounting, financial planning, internal and external reporting, technology and tax planning. He is a member of the executive team and investment committee, and also plays a lead role in the development and implementation of United Properties’ overall strategy.

Past Experience
Skalland joined United Properties in 2007 as an assistant controller and was promoted to controller in 2010. He was promoted to chief accounting officer and vice president in 2014. Prior to joining United Properties, Eric served as a senior financial analyst at CBS Radio, Inc., and as a senior associate with accounting firm Grant Thornton. In addition to financial expertise, he has significant experience creating impactful corporate strategies and developing strategic partnerships.

Eric is a member of the Minnesota Society of CPAs and the National Association of Real Estate Companies (NAREC).

Past Experience
Gordy brings more than 16 years of experience in the real estate and development field to his new role at United Properties. Most recently, he served as director of development for Hines Interests Limited Partnership in Denver. In that role, he oversaw the development of more than 1 million square feet of complex office development projects in downtown Denver.

Current Responsibilities
As senior vice president of investments, Richard is the lead for all of United Properties’ financing and lender relationships. In addition, as the company’s most senior asset manager, Richard is responsible for many of the large assets in United Properties’ owned real estate portfolio. Within asset management, he provides supervision and direction to property managers and leasing agents and is responsible for lease underwriting, lease negotiation, and lease execution as well as the management of property capital investment. In his role, Richard is a senior leader for company joint venture relationships.

Past Experience
Prior to joining United Properties, Richard held financing positions at Allstate Life Insurance Company in its commercial mortgage lending group and in finance and acquisitions at The Balcor Company and The Griffin Companies. He began his career as a staff accountant in the tax department of Arthur Andersen & Company.

Richard is a member of NAIOP where he serves on the board of directors for the Minnesota Chapter and on an NAIOP national capital markets forum.

As senior vice president of Retail Investment and Development, Keith Ulstad leads the company’s efforts relating to retail and mixed-use real estate acquisitions,

development and re-development opportunities. The retail group is responsible for capitalizing on United Properties’ financial strength, market knowledge and tenant relationships in the retail sector to create value in our owned-asset and client portfolios. Its focus is grocery-anchored retail, mixed-use projects with a retail component, and single-tenant net based assets.

Past Experience
Keith has been actively involved in retail investment real estate for more than 30 years as a developer, asset manager and consultant. He has been responsible for the
development or re-development of more than 25 shopping centers as an officer or partner at Carlson Companies, the Center Companies, Madison-Marquette
Realty Services and Oppidan Investment Company.

He is a former chair of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Small Scale Development Council, an active member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and the Minnesota Shopping Center Association (MSCA) and has been admitted to the American Society of Counselors of Real Estate (CRE).

Sarah Veith is the senior vice president of human resources at United Properties. She has responsibility for partnering with the leadership team to ensure that capable talent is engaged to achieve United Properties’ strategies and goals.  Sarah also leads the company’s goal-planning and development for employees. Sarah reports to Pam Lampert, senior vice president of human resources and communications for the Pohlad Companies.

Past Experience
Sarah joined United Properties in 2016. She brings more than 13 years of experience to the organization, most recently serving as a human resources consultant with Salo, LLC. Prior to Salo, Sarah spent more than eight years with Essilor Laboratories of America. At Essilor,  a regional senior human resource business partner.

Education
Sarah earned a bachelor’s degree in business management with a concentration in human resource management from St. Cloud State University.  Sarah is also SPHR and SHRM-SCP certified.
