The Lorient
A neighborhood-friendly development
The Lorient at 4500 France replaced a dry cleaner and two residential lots with 45 spacious apartment homes and retail space – the perfect addition to a lively intersection. The development cleaned up environmental contamination while abiding by Edina’s requirement for affordable housing, including units for people with disabilities. The architect preserved the neighborhood’s classic character, and, out of respect for nearby homeowners, used a step-back design to reduce the building’s height.
