4500 France
A neighborhood-friendly development
The Lorient at 4500 France replaces a dry cleaner and out-of-business movie theater with spacious apartment homes, shopping and dining – a perfect addition to a lively intersection. The development will clean up environmental contamination and abide by Edina’s requirement for affordable housing, including units for people with disabilities. The architect has preserved the neighborhood’s classic character and, out of respect for nearby homeowners, has used a step-back design to reduce the building’s height where it meets single-family houses.
