RBC Gateway
A new vision for a historic site.
RBC Gateway, the 37-story tower redevelopment of downtown Minneapolis’ landmark corner at Washington and Hennepin Avenues, will be a stunning addition to the downtown Minneapolis skyline when completed in 2022. The development also goes far beyond its impressive brick and mortar structure in providing financial benefits to the community.
Proceeds from the land sale ($10.4 million) went to the Minneapolis affordable housing initiative to help more people live in quality housing. When complete, RBC Gateway will provide significant ongoing annual revenue to the City and County and add hundreds of new jobs through the Four Seasons Hotel. The public plaza component of the project is another example of our shared commitment with our owners, the Pohlad family, to leave lasting legacies that make our downtown better.
When completed in 2022, RBC Gateway will be one of the ten tallest buildings in downtown Minneapolis, an impressive addition at the intersection of the city’s three most-storied avenues. The tower is home to RBC Wealth Management world headquarters, Four Seasons, the city’s first 5-star hotel, five of the Pohlad Companies, 34 private residences, a public plaza and street-level retail. The development is connected to the Minneapolis Central Library, extending the city’s unique skyway system.
RBC Gateway is another demonstration of our continuing commitment to build the infrastructure that will support the community in the years ahead.
“We believe our best investments are the ones that help support this community and make it stronger.”
– Robert Pohlad, Pohlad Companies
“The Gateway will be a stunning addition to Minneapolis – and one that we believe will be warmly embraced by the community.”
– Bill Katter, United Properties President & Development CIO
