United Properties has a longstanding history of creating deep roots by supporting the local communities where we work and live. Our UPLift program encourages community involvement through volunteerism, charitable giving and sponsorships and serves as a complement to our civic-minded approach to development.
Habitat for Humanity
Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity seeks to make decent, affordable shelter for all people a matter of conscience. We have supported its mission through volunteer projects at construction sites and by assisting senior residents maintain their properties.
The Nature Conservancy
We’ve formed a partnership to help The Nature Conservancy evaluate and choose locations for tree-canopy replacement in both Colorado and Minnesota. In the past few years, we’ve literally “created deep roots” by planting more than 1,000 plants.
Public Art & Green Space
Our developments add something for all to enjoy. We look for opportunities to enhance neighborhoods by adding public art and green spaces to projects. Examples include a mural on the back of a convenience store and a grassy plaza in a dense urban neighborhood.
United for the Community
We support many causes by sharing a percentage of our corporate profits on an annual basis, with a special emphasis on sustainability, affordable housing, diversity, senior care and other community organizations of importance to our employees and customers.
A Legacy of Service
The founding family of our parent company has a strong, but humble, legacy of service and community giving. We are inspired by their example and are committed to working toward the Pohlad Family Foundation’s vision to help forge a future where opportunity and prosperity are shared by all.
In addition to our corporate support of philanthropic causes, we encourage our employees to give back to the community through their own charitable contributions. Qualifying employee donations to 501c3 nonprofits are matched up to $1000 by the Pohlad Family Foundation.
