UNITED PROPERTIES HOSTS FIRST ANNUAL VENDOR FAIR IN PARTNERSHIP WITH MEDA AND ASCEND TWIN CITIES

United Properties is committed to creating a more inclusive and equitable real estate industry by broadening access to economic opportunity. A key part of that commitment is advancing inclusive procurement — intentionally opening doors for underserved businesses to grow and thrive within our network.

As a proud corporate anchor of the Ascend Twin Cities program, operated by MEDA, we support efforts to build the capacity of underserved suppliers and connect them with long-term business opportunities. MEDA (Metropolitan Economic Development Association) is a nonprofit organization that empowers entrepreneurs with consulting, access to capital, and market opportunities. Through Ascend Twin Cities — a local initiative of a national network founded by the University of Washington Foster School of Business — MEDA works with corporate partners to help underserved businesses integrate into large-scale supply chains.

This partnership came to life through our first annual Vendor Fair, which brought together 15 remarkable vendors and members of our Development, Asset Management, and Property Management teams, along with general contractors. The event served as a launchpad for building relationships and laying the foundation for future collaboration and contracting opportunities.

At United Properties, we believe that inclusive procurement leads to stronger partnerships, greater innovation, and a business community that reflects a broader range of talents and perspectives. Our continued collaboration with MEDA and Ascend Twin Cities reinforces our long-term commitment to economic inclusion across our projects and operations.

“MEDA is here to support our entrepreneurs through their journey filled with growth. Part of that responsibility requires us to leverage our relationships with partners such as United Properties to discover meaningful business opportunities for our underserved clients. The Vendor Fair was just one of the many doors we’ll continue to open together.”
Robert Harper, Senior Director of Business Consulting, MEDA
