THE AWARD-WINNING, MULTI-TENANT OFFICE BUILDING IN MINNEAPOLIS, THE NORDIC, HAS ACHIEVED THE PRESTIGIOUS WELL CERTIFICATION AT THE GOLD LEVEL FROM THE INTERNATIONAL WELL BUILDING INSTITUTE.

This building was designed with an emphasis on occupant health and well-being, with several features such as operable windows and enhanced air quality to reduce health risks.

The Nordic was evaluated on seven categories of building performance: air, water, light, nourishment, fitness, comfort, and mind. The building was awarded its WELL Certified Gold rating due to features such as operable windows, improved air quality through air ventilation and filtration, material transparency, biophilic design, and exterior activities. “The Nordic was designed before the pandemic, when these health and wellness features were still considered novel,” said LHB Architect Stacee Demmer. “The design helped decrease health risks to tenants, allowing the building to stay open during the pandemic.”

The Nordic provides a safe and inviting environment for office workers, visitors, and neighborhood residents to gather and relax. A third-party certification body, Green Business Certification Inc., conducted a thorough evaluation to ensure The Nordic met the criteria for WELL Certified Gold performance.
