Current Responsibilities


As executive vice president, Richard leads all United Properties’ financing and lender relationships. In addition, he is responsible for managing the company’s joint venture with State Farm in ownership of Centennial Lakes Office Park. Richard is a member of the company’s capital markets team which is responsible for raising equity and arranging debt for joint venture developments and acquisitions.

Past Experience

Prior to joining United Properties, Richard held financing positions at Allstate Life Insurance Company in its commercial mortgage lending group and in finance and acquisitions at The Balcor Company and The Griffin Companies. He began his career as a staff accountant in the tax department of Arthur Andersen & Company.

Professional and Community Involvement

Richard has sat on the corporate board of directors of NAIOP as a local liaison to the national organization, impacting its overall strategies and initiatives. He has also served on a NAIOP national capital markets forum, as well as the board of directors for the Minnesota Chapter, and a 2-year term as NAIOP Minnesota chapter treasurer.

Education

Richard received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Washington University and his master’s degree in business administration from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and obtained his Certified Public Accounting (CPA) license in November of 1980.

Current Responsibilities

Eric is the Chief Financial Officer & EVP of Capital Markets at United Properties, where he is responsible for the company’s financial and capital market activities. He leads a team of personnel in capital markets, accounting, financial planning, internal and external reporting, tax planning, and technology, overseeing their analysis, organization, and structuring of equity, debt, and joint ventures. Eric is also a member of the Board of Directors, Investment Committee, Strategic Leadership Team, and Executive Leadership Council, and takes a lead role in the development and implementation of United Properties’ overall strategy.

Past Experience

Having joined United Properties in 2007 as an assistant controller, Eric was promoted to controller in 2010, and then to chief accounting officer and vice president in 2014. Before that, he was a senior financial analyst at CBS Radio, Inc. and a senior associate at Grant Thornton. Eric is not only an experienced financial professional but has also demonstrated his ability to create effective corporate strategies and build strategic partnerships.

Professional and Community Involvement

Eric is an active member of multiple professional associations, including the Urban Land Institute (ULI), Minnesota Society of CPAs, and the National Association of Real Estate Companies (NAREC). He also serves on the North Memorial Health Foundation Board. In 2021, he expanded his philanthropic work by joining the Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity Board.

Education

Eric is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management.

Current Responsibilities

As Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Laura provides strategic advice to management and transactional support and guidance to the Company. She also manages the company’s insurance portfolio and claims, as well as the organization’s dispute resolution needs.

Laura is also a member of United Properties’ Strategic Leadership Team which establishes the company’s overall strategic plan and oversees the organization’s broader operational initiatives.

Past Experience

Laura joined United Properties in 2019 as United Properties’ first in-house legal counsel and has since established a strong legal team and implemented strategies to effectively manage risk. Before joining United Properties, Laura served as Senior Counsel at Empire State Development where she worked on complex multi-party real estate development projects in the New York Metro Area, including the $1 billion redevelopment of Belmont Park into a 435,000 square foot retail complex and hotel. She has also worked for the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation and Empire State Development.

Education

Laura received her Bachelor of Arts and her Juris Doctor degrees from Indiana University Bloomington.

Current Responsibilities

In this role, Ann manages a team of administrative professionals and oversees all corporate operations, including strategic planning, forecasting and budgeting related to payroll and operational expenses, document management, and special projects for the Executive Team. She also serves as a liaison between United Properties and our external partners in Human Resources, Information Technology, Legal, and Marketing Communications, providing communication and direction on corporate matters. Ann chairs United Properties’ Charitable Giving team and leads our corporate giving efforts in the areas of housing stability, environmental sustainability and senior living.

Past Experience

At the start of her career, Ann worked in Property Accounting at United Properties, where she supervised a team of accountants responsible for the financial reporting of over 50 buildings. In 2007, she moved to the development side of the business and spearheaded the office relocation to RBC Gateway in 2022. Before joining United Properties, Ann served as an assistant controller at the University of Minnesota Foundation.

Professional and Community Involvement

Ann has been a parent volunteer for the Bloomington Public Schools, serving as the founding president of the Jefferson Athletic Foundation, an all-sport booster club at Jefferson High School. Additionally, she is a pianist at her church and has been a volunteer for the Bloomington Athletic Association.

Education

Ann received her bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Northwestern College in Iowa.

Current Responsibilities

As Vice President of Technology, Kevin spearheads the Technology vision, bridging the gap between corporate technology and property technology for United Properties. Deeply versed in the intricacies of the company’s business dynamics, Kevin collaborates closely with executive leadership. His aim is to accentuate the company’s competitive edge by optimizing operational efficiencies while leveraging PropTech solutions to foster cybersecurity and modernize real estate processes.

Past Experience

Kevin joined United Properties in 2015, having worked in a variety of IT roles both within and outside of commercial real estate. Prior to this, he demonstrated exceptional leadership as a Manager at NorthMarq Capital, a close affiliate of United Properties, and also in commercial real estate.

Education

Kevin earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Minnesota in 2007 and also holds a variety of IT licenses and certifications, including CAPM, CRISC, and ITIL Foundation.

Professional and Community Involvement

Kevin is a member of the Real Estate Cyber Consortium, participates with MRI User Group, and also is a licensed real estate agent in the state of Minnesota.

Current Responsibilities

As Vice President of Accounting, Al is responsible for overseeing and leading various accounting functions such as financial reporting, audits, tax, budgeting, forecasting, compliance, and more.

Past Experience

Al joined United Properties in 2020 with over 20 years of experience in financial leadership and strategic planning. He began his career with Pohlad Companies in 1999, starting as an accounting supervisor with NorthMarq and was promoted to corporate controller in 2004. In 2018, Petrie joined PaR Systems as a corporate accounting manager. During his time at NorthMarq and PaR Systems, he played critical roles in real estate, construction, development, and service company activities, including acquisitions and dispositions.

Professional and Community Involvement

Al is a member of the National Association of Real Estate Companies (NAREC), a professional association that provides solutions to real estate financial and tax challenges through collaborative relationships, education, and knowledge sharing.

Education

Al holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Winona State University.

Current Responsibilities

After joining United Properties in 2019 as vice president of hospitality and residential development, Scott quickly made a noticeable impact on the company’s RBC Gateway project and other hotel pursuits. He was then named as vice president of hospitality and office development, where he is now responsible for site acquisition, project underwriting, design, development and construction for both Minneapolis and Denver markets.

Past Experience

Scott started his career at a Fortune 150 company working in a variety of positions, including finance and development. In these roles, he delivered several thousand residential lots in both large master planned developments and infill projects. After gaining a solid understanding of horizontal land development, Scott pursued vertical construction in Kauia, Hawaii, where he helped deliver an $80 million private luxury resort. He went on to manage two general contracting companies in the Lake Tahoe, California region where he was responsible for overall performance of portfolio in excess of $10 million. With more than 13 years of experience in the residential and hotel markets and partnering with major hospitality brands, Scott recently served 5 years with CSM Corporation in Minneapolis as the senior director of development and construction. In this role, he executed more than $200 million of lodging projects. His extensive understanding of the development cycle — from acquisition and entitlements to end construction — plays a key role in strong development opportunities and financial models.

Professional and Community Involvement

Scott has been a panelist at Hotel News Now and National Development Roundtable conferences and a speaker at industry events such as the Hotel Data Conference (2015 and 2016) and several local hotel symposia. In the past, he was an active volunteer at Twin Cities area Ronald McDonald Houses and has been featured in local media for helping spearhead hands-on and innovative community service projects for his team. Scott also dedicates his time to mentorships at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Business and several other community organizations. And finally, Scott and his family are active members at the Minnesota Children’s Museum.

Education

Scott received his bachelor’s degree in business management and minor in entrepreneurship and small business from Montana State University-Bozeman. He also received his executive MBA of business/managerial economics from the University of Arizona, Eller College of Management.

Current Responsibilities

As the Vice President of Senior Living Asset Management, Laura is responsible for the oversight and operations of third-party managers for our senior living communities. She understands the operating business of senior living real estate and develops trusted working relationships with both internal and external customers.

Past Experience

Laura has over 10 years of Senior Living experience starting in accounting and transitioning most recently to operations. Laura is passionate about creating better, flourishing environments for older adults. She joined United Properties in 2018 as a Financial Analyst for our Senior Living communities. Prior to joining United Properties, Laura served as an Executive Director at The Waters of Plymouth and also worked in their corporate offices as a Senior Living Accountant.

Education

Laura earned her Bachelors of Business Administration Degree in Healthcare Management from the University of Minnesota Duluth.

Current Responsibilities

As vice president of construction management, Bill Jundt oversees all construction services for the development team and assists with tenant improvement projects for the company portfolio.

Past Experience

Bill has over 37 years of experience in commercial construction working on a vast scale of projects including RBC Gateway, The Nordic, Prime Therapeutics at Boulder Lakes, Norwest Tower, Timberwolves Arena, The Grand Hotel, Best Buy and JC Penney stores nationwide and numerous medical facilities as well as radio broadcast facilities.

Professional and Community Involvement

Bill leads a team of United Properties employees twice a year for a volunteer day with Habitat For Humanity. He has served on the ULI Minnesota Real Estate Diversity Initiative (REDi) Committee and is a former member of the Minnesota Shopping Center Association (MSCA), International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and former Vice President of Minnesota Construction Association. He is also a former member of the Minnesota Medical Group Managers Association.

Education

Bill studied nursing at Mankato State University. He also holds a graduate degree in architectural drafting and estimating from Dunwoody College in Minneapolis. Bill holds a LEED Legacy certification

Current Responsibilities

Alex has been a member of the residential development group since 2005. In this role, he focuses on multi-family residential development in the Twin Cities. His responsibilities include project management as well as overseeing the residential property management group.

Past Experience

Alex joined United Properties in 1992 as a senior property manager. He was one of the four portfolio managers leading the property management division. In this role, he managed a nine-person team responsible for a diverse portfolio of more than six million square feet. Prior to joining United Properties, Alex was with Rubloff, Inc. in Chicago, where he managed properties on behalf of institutional owners.

Professional and Community Involvement

Alex has been involved in local organizations such as BOMA and NAIOP. He was on the BOMA Board of Directors from 2003 through 2005. He obtained CPM and RPA designations.

Education

Alex holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Olaf College and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Denver.
