Current Responsibilities

In this role, Lynn is responsible for providing critical information for strategic decision-making through financial analysis, research, and administrative and tactical project support. In addition, she takes primary responsibility for reviewing, improving, and documenting business processes and tools throughout the company to enhance consistency and efficiency. Lynn is also an instrumental part of our Corporate Social Responsibility and Diversity & Inclusion committees and is also credited with creating and chairing our Credit Committee.

Past Experience

Lynn has ample experience in accounting and finance, as well as the non-profit sector. She began her career at Grant Thornton as a senior audit associate. Her passion for people, community and real estate then led her to serve in various finance roles at local affordable housing non-profits for six years. Most recently, she was the finance manager for PRG until she joined United Properties in 2015 as a senior financial analyst.

Professional and Community Involvement

Lynn is the board Treasurer of PRG Inc, a local Homeownership Education and Affordable Housing Developer. She is also an active member of MN based Racial Justice in Real Estate group, in addition to volunteering at her church, local scouts troop and at her children’s school.

Education

Lynn holds a degree in accounting and finance from Bethel University and is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive).

Matt Van Slooten is the chief executive officer of United Properties.

Current Responsibilities

As chief executive officer, Van Slooten oversees all aspects of the business.

Past Experience

Matt joined United Properties in 2018 as President and Portfolio CIO and was promoted to CEO in 2022. Matt has been a long-time real estate industry leader, with 25 years at Carlson Real Estate Company, advancing through all critical company roles leading ultimately to becoming president of the organization, a post he held for 13 years. Matt also served as the president of commercial properties for CSM Corporation for 4 years, overseeing a 10 million sq. ft. portfolio of industrial, office, and retail properties.

Professional and Community Involvement

Matt is an active member of the National Association of Industrial and Office Parks (NAIOP) and a past Chapter President of NAIOP Minnesota. He is also a recipient of the NAIOP President’s Award (2009). He is an active member of the Young President’s Organization (YPO) and served on the Minnesota Chapter board as the membership chair. While at Carlson Companies, he was the recipient of the Carlson Fellow Award for Leadership Achievement, the company’s highest honor.

Education

Matt earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from St. Cloud State University.
