Current Responsibilities
In her role as Senior Vice President of Commercial Development and National Sales Leader, Sonja oversees the development of built-to-suit and pre-leased office properties in Minnesota, Colorado and Texas. She also handles dispositions for all company assets including sales strategies, timing, and selection of investment sales teams, and oversees all negotiations through to closings.

Past Experience
Sonja joined United Properties in 2022 with more than 20 years of real estate industry experience. Prior to joining United Properties, Sonja served as senior vice president for CBRE specializing in the sales of office and industrial assets and assisting clients with sourcing equity for development and JV partnerships. She also served as an executive director of brokerage services for Cushman Wakefield Northmarq where she focused on the Minneapolis market.

Sonja has worked extensively with a variety of clients in Investment Sales: BVK, Artis REIT, Starwood, Shorenstein, DRA, Equus Capital Partners, Goldman Sachs, KBS, Lasalle Investments, Link, Longwharf, New York Life, and Principal Financial Group.

Professional and Community Involvement
Sonja is a recipient of numerous awards and accolades throughout her career including Power Broker by CoStar, Top Producer by Cushman &Wakefield Offshore Club, Top Women in Finance by Finance & Commerce, CBRE Chairman’s Club Award, Top Women in Commercial Real Estate by BISNOW and more.

Sonja also served as President of NAIOP Minnesota in 2015.

Education
Sonja earned her Bachelor of Arts in Business and Marketing from the University of Northern Iowa. Sonja is a Licensed Real Estate Broker in Minnesota.
